Ottawa Softball – SBW Three-way Tournament Post game – A FINALS – Jager Bombers vs The Crew

After an epic win in the semis The Crew manage to defeat an Empire and reigning tournament champs and are up against an undefeated Jager Bombers team. It has been a long and grueling day for both teams with The Bombers coming in with their third game in a row!

The Crew take no time to get the game started with a leadoff single.  After a few more hits The Crew draws first blood. A double play attempt at one to end it is dropped by the Bombers and The Crew capitalize on it with a 2R Bomb to right field. Bombers pitcher Curtis with a snag and flick to one to end the inning, Crew  up  4 – 0. Bombers turn to answer back. Getting a few hits with a great shot into right field to score a run, but the Crew lock the D down, 4 – 1 for the Crew.

Top 2 the Crew use their second homerun for an add-on run, but the Bombers shut the door after that stopping the damage. 5 – 1 Crew. Bottom the Bombers get the bats going and get a 2 run jack. The Crew go in to damage control and pull a double play to get out of the inning. 5- 3 Crew.

Into the third with the Crew up Bombers come up big on D. The Bombers Lady at 3b with a snag and a rocket to 1B for the out! Tied Game 5 – 5

Into the fourth Bombers center fielder comes running after a ball and attempts the layout catch but just misses.  Bombers to manage to later on pick off a runner being sent home. The Crew use their final home run to for 3 runs, putting the crew back up. 8 – 5. On the bottom frame, the Crew manage to lock the D down and pick up another double play to close out the inning with no damage.

Next inning we see more small ball from the Crew to push up 3 runs. 11 – 5. Bombers up in the bottom frame shut down nice D by the crew with a great line drive snag at 2B and Captain Brad Brewer at Pitch with a snag on a hit back to end the inning.

Bottom 6 the Crews D still locking it down. They get a quick 2 outs but the Bombers start a small rally  score a run with two outs. The Crew come through and close it out keeping the damage at 1. 11 – 6 Crew.

Top 7. Bombers manage to get the leadoff batter, but the Crew fire back with the next two batters getting one.  The crew manage to score two more run off a nice liner to the fence.  And with a bit more small ball the Crew put up another to get 3 in pushing the score 14 – 6 for the Crew.

Ottawa Softball – SBW Three-way Tournament Post game – Playball Girls vs Bottoms Up

Lead-off double for the Playball Girls and singing? Who let the Eugene Out?, is apparently the hit of 2019. More doubles from Vicky returning in a Bunnies jersey. Captain Daniel  at the plate and showing restraint and taking a walk.  The Bunnies after the hit/walk parade manage to take the inning with 5. On the flip side with some more signing praise for the Pitcher Eugene with some dirty board front to back left corner pitching shut the door hard making 3 up, 3 down .

Top of two Eugene back at it takes a deep shot in the park to center and legs out a triple, who knew he could run that fast? Bottoms Up gets a good Defensive play as their short stop manages to pick off Dan running home.  But the Bunnies’ hitting still too much and put up another 5. In the bottom we have strange play where the umpire asked if the players needed time to hug and then we say second base Sean R. hugging the pitcher from bottoms up after an attempted tag play at 2. Sean saying he could get a fellow Habs fan out.

In the third Bottoms up being patient getting some walks but, Eugene’s pitching still strong and getting some K’s.  Captain Daniel tries to turn two with a catch at rover and a rocket to home to try and catch the runner pushing home but the balls pops out of the glove, Bottoms up on the board.

Bottoms up see a change in pitching, but more hits from the girls and they are running wild.  Bottoms up does manage the double with a 6-4-3 to end the inning stopping some damage.

In the late part of the game we see some big catches in left field from Keanu and a laser from 3b Vicky laser to 1.  Eugene continues with the strong pitching also getting a K proving to be too much for bottoms up.

Ottawa Softball – SBW Three-way Tournament Post game – Baseic Pitches vs Playball Girls

Playball girls pulled out the win in what ended as tight game against Baseic Pitches. Both teams put up strong defense. The difference was the hot bats of the Playball Girls highlighted by a one run home run, a two run home run, and costly centre field hit to the fence by the Playball Girls. In the final frame the Baseic Pitches blasted couple home runs paired with strong base running. However, it wasn’t enough to close the deficit they had fell into and the Playball Girls sealed their 8-6 victory.

Ottawa Softball – SBW Three-way Tournament Post game – Jack Astor’s vs. Bottoms Up

1st inning: grey team gets a few runs in, with a dude on the team cranking a nice hit to left field, burning Dallas. Dallas hits a crazy ass hit to centerfield and makes it all the way to third. Alex cranks it to left field and makes it home. Buddy Blue Shirt ends the inning with a nice hit and gets 5 runs in.
2nd inning: Light Blue Shirt guy from Bottoms Up makes it to second base. The pitcher unfortunately lets a few people walk the bases and into home plate. Wade from Jack Astor’s burns centerfield and gets Adria home. Big Red Shirt Guy cranks it over centerfield too and sends Marie-Eve to third. Burgundy sweater girl cranks it good, and moves to second.
3rd inning: Giffer from Bottoms Up gets a decent hit but unfortunately third base snags it. #11 also gets a nice ass hit, and makes it to first. Thomas Rhett girl gets a nice it too, and makes it to first. Alex makes it to first, and Adria pushes him to second. Navy Blue Shirt Guy makes another nice hit this inning and moves two runners in. Dallas ends the inning with 5 runs in with her nice ass hit to outfield.
4th inning: the pitcher on the Jack Astor’s walks the first girl, but the second dude gets up to second base. Unfortunately the third base runner runs to home plate but the Jack Astor’s catcher catches him out. Wes finally gets a good hit for Jack Astor’s and runs to second. Biju also gets a nice hit and runs to second too.
5th inning: the big guy in white pants made it to first, but unfortunately couldn’t get anyone home. Alex gets a crappy hit, but the first base fumbles and he makes it to second. Dallas cranks it center and moves to second. Each hitter moves one person more and more into home to finish the game in a mercy!
Final score: 22-10.

Ottawa Softball – SBW Three-way Tournament Post game – Jaegerbomb vs. Young Gunz

1st inning: Young Gunz women nail it with getting two chicks on base and home, but the boys flop and end the inning, with thanks to Curtis (Jager Bombs) for striking the rest out. Jager Bombs start off with a strike out, but then a dude (no number) cracks it out of the infield and gets a homerun. The Young Gunz come out of nowhere and get a two play out, ending the inning.
2nd inning: Black T-Shirt girl starts the inning from Young Gunz with smashing it to right field and getting on base. Jager Bombers then make a two out play by Blue Sleeves short stop, and then getting the next hitter out by snagging the next ball and whipping it to third. Jager Bombers first hitter (# 9 Lafleche) snags second from a small hit by tagging up. #45 Rage then gets a nice hit and runs all the way to third, sending #9 home. Reeree walks to first, and #64 bangs it out to right field and moves more runners home.
3rd inning: Jager Bombers end the first portion of the inning real quick by getting three up and three down. Sonja cranks it to the outfield and makes it to second. Grey Shirt guy from Jager Bombers then cranks it again, and gets more runners in. Rage makes it on a decent hit by tagging up (girl got her ball caught), and then Simon ends the inning with another nice hit and 5 runs in max.
4th inning: Brad from Jager Bombers starts of nice with a right field hit and makes it to first. Sam from Jager Bombers snags the second basemen out. Holly then makes a tiny hit that rolls backwards, but runs fast enough to make it to first. Sonja cracks it so far it she chick burns the Jager Bomber centerfield, and gets the male runner to third. #64 cranks it out, but the next girl up (Reeree) cranks it even further and gets him to second.
Game ends from a strong female dominated Jager Bombers! Some dude named Curtis in a red shirt (apparently doesn’t have a jersey) really didn’t help at all with the win, also. He kept getting really strange ground balls and complaining about his weak plays.
Final score 15-3 for Jager Bombers!

Ottawa Softball – SBW Three-way Tournament Post game – Evil Empire vs Les Mean Mines

Les Mean Mines managed to get a runner on base, but Evil Empire’s defensive play managed to shut it down without a run. Evil Empire managed to find some gaps as the rain started to fall again, other than hits right to Shortstop and Left Field, but Les Mean Mines ended the inning with only 3 runs scored.

#20 on Les Mean Mines made up for a missed swing at bat with a hit to right field that ended up as a triple. Les Mean Mines took some tips from Evil Empire’s batting in the first inning and did a good job finding some gaps in their batting, but Evil Empire’s Rover made a diving catch and the Second Baseman made a bullet of a throw to rob Les Mean Mines of a second run in.

The rain stopped, but otherwise the game continued in the same pattern, with Evil Empire getting a few more runs than Les Mean Mines. #20 on Evil Empire had one particularly nice hit which curved nicely into right field. #11 on Les Mean Mines had some good patience, getting the walk but being forced into a fielder’s choice right after.

After enough homeruns were hit, a few of the Evil Empire team members were sent into the fields beyond to bring back some balls. They brought a few back, but the ump was trying to direct them to another one (which they managed to find when they went out again the next inning).

#27 from Les Mean Mines had a great hit, a single with the runner ahead advancing 2 bases, and some good base running to avoid running into the out at Second. In their next at bat, the girl in the orange shirt had a nice stop then a beautiful throw from her knees to get the force out at Second.

Congrats to Evil Empire for moving on in the playoffs, and a big thank you to Les Mean Mines for joining us again this year.

Ottawa Softball – SBW Three-way Tournament Post game – Bottoms Up vs Big Money

The game started off with Big Money in the field, with the pitcher walking three batters before a single by Blue Tank Top brought 2 runs in for Bottoms Up. Bottoms Up looked like continuing in the same vein, until a double play by the Third Baseman picked off the lead 2 runners. The top of the first inning ended with the fifth run walking in. Big Money picked up on the bats, with a nice hit up centre by 27. Then Shortstop on Bottoms Up showed good range for a fly ball at the edge of the infield. Pitcher from Big Money had a nice line drive to short outfield to show some good offensive play, but didn’t manage to score due to a line drive to 3B.

Big Money tried switching up their pitcher for the second inning, which sort of worked as Bottoms Up only scored 4 runs while alternating walking and hitting, including a line drive which was caught by the pitcher. The best play of the inning was by a spectator at the top of the stands, catching a foul ball a row in front of him without falling down the bleachers. The first batter up for Big Money was really eager to hit and then to run the bases, but unfortunately didn’t score a run.

In the top of the next inning, Centre Field on Big Money made two good catches of fly balls for outs #2 and #3. #12 from Big Money had a nice hit up the centre to start off their hitting, and their girls did well to load up the bases, but didn’t manage to get batted in. Bottoms Up had a good start to the inning, with 2 straight outs in spite of the honking of a car alarm. The car alarm actually seemed to help their fielding, since they let a few Big Money team members on base, even while Rover made a sliding snag but couldn’t quite get up to get the out at Second. The game ended with a routine stop by Shortstop, stepping onto Second Base for the last out.

Congrats to Bottoms Up for moving on with a 10-1 victory!
