Ottawa Softball Playoff Post Game, SBW Beer vs FO

Ottawa softball playoff Ball has finally arrived! Suds Buds and Windmills kicked off the post season with an intense elimination game against the Ottawa softball team the Rivals. Do-or-die games require a certain mental toughness to be able to persevere, and the Buds showed they had that and more. After a slow first inning that put the team down 2 runs, they responded with 3 runs of their own in the top of the 2nd. With the lead in hand, SBW put on a defensive clinic. Great pitching along with solid defense by all the fielders, held the opposing team to 1 run or less in 5 of the remaining 6 innings. With the buds playing error-free defense, the offense continued as it had all season, ripping the cover off the ball. A 5-run 3rd, followed by a 4-run 4th inning allowed SBW to take a strangle hold of the game. By the time the dust settled, Justyn with a Y had hit for the cycle, and Captain Krystle, Martin, Sarah, and Pageau had all recorded 3 hit games. With a final score of 17-7, SBW booked its spot in the Semifinals, and sent The Rivals home packing.
