Ottawa Softball Post Game 6, SBW Comp vs Red Tape

The moon was up, it was getting late, it was time to celebrate – it’s softball time! (anybody else?!) The Buds had some swagger going into Game 3 against Red Tape with a 2-0 record. We got on the board quickly in the bottom of the first with a hit by Marie-Eve and a HR by Pete. Seb had a hit / robbed a bank and flailed around the bases – each more ridiculous than the next, until it ended with a scrapped knee and a lucky dropped ball at third. Karma answered like a boss by stranding him at third and sending him off to lick his wounds.

D started strong, highlighted by Peter’s quick snag at first. Bats came out in the second: double by Justyn, another double by Lawrie off the top of fence, and yet another double by Alex. Peter went swinging for the moon and actually struck out (!) to end the inning. Captain Eric had to duck out to pitch for SBW Rec so Peter stepped up to pitch like it ain’t no thang, Lawrie shut them down at third and Julie had a beauty catch in right field.

Late in the game SBW continued to pile on the runs, led by strong hitting by the ladies. Krystle and Marie Eve were swinging sexy hot bats and Pete fired a cannon ball home run to right field. Marie Eve spanked the outfielders by sending a a deep ball way over their heads to the fence and Julie crushed a ball to the warning track.

Red Tape managed to squeak in a couple runs at the end of the game but overall were no match for SBW.

After victorious full moon high fives, it was time to say Goodnight Moon. Goodnight bats and goodnight hats, goodnight cleats and goodnight scoresheets. Goodnight bases, goodnight laces, goodnight aces and goodnight faces. Goodnight lights, goodnight air, goodnight players everywhere.
