Ottawa Softball Post Game 9, SBW Comp vs Moaning Mooses

SBW attempted to continue their Ottawa softball winning ways against the Moaning Mouse.  With several people missing from the lineup, the team would be put up to the test against a strong team.  Ryan was back in the lineup in lieu of Peter and Carolyn and Baillie were subbbing for the vacationing Sam and Krystle.

Unfortunately, the team couldn’t muster any run support and found themselves on the losing end of a 11-3 score.  With a few defensive lapses and very limited hitting, any team would find themselves in dire straits in this kind of game.  Despite a few strong catches by the player of the game, Baillie, well placed hits by the opponent and defensive gaffes by the Buds helped the opponents slowly add to their run count.   Suds were able to limit damage early on, but after a four run eighth inning by the mice, the game was out of reach.  There were two bright spots on the batting squad, Mark, was 2 for 2 with a homerun and Jith was 2 for 2 with a homerun.  Justyn had a homerun as well, which unfortunately had to be called off because of the 1 homerun per innning rule.  On the bright side, the team kept the score close for most of the game and maybe with one more inning, the team could have sparked some rally magic and came back (as in the previous game), but here’s to next week and let’s see if SBW can come together not only with their gloves but with their bats as well to help add a W to the standings.

Well that wraps up another week of Ottawa softball at the RA Centre. There is still plenty of more Suds Buds and Windmills to come this season. See you all next week!
