Ottawa Softball Post Game 6, SBW Comp vs XYZ

Ottawa Softball Post Game 6, SBW Comp vs XYZ

Suds, Buds and Windmills have returned with an Ottawa softball victory after consecutive and disheartening losses.   Two weeks ago, against Durwin’s Autobats, the Suds, Buds and Windmills were one run shy of getting back into the winning side of the scoreboard but were not able to score any runs in the final inning; Defensive lapses and inconsistent hitting once again was an issue.  This week the team pulled off an important win against XYZ, winning by one run, finally getting a W and more importantly, ending their slide.

After a slow start from both team, each teams tacking a few runs in each inning.  Justyn lead the team with a 3 for 3 performance with two homeruns, Double and Walk.  Substitute Jess, Krystle and Marc also helped with their strong batting performances.   Marc continues to shine this season, as his defensive play and batting performances have been a bright spot on a up and down Ottawa softball season.   Suds, Buds and Windmills managed to stay in the game with some key homeruns from multiple players and some defensive plays, including a double play by Carlos, that limited the damage, ultimately leading to Suds, Buds and Windmills squeaking out a victory.

Ultimately, consistency in softball especially in Ottawa  is important, in defence, communication and hitting; several players continue to struggle this season in one or more regards, but getting the elusive win again will hopefully lead to the team coming together and spark more consistency from individuals to maintain the winning pattern.

Check back next week for another Ottawa softball postgame from the RA Centre softball league. As always if you’re looking to play sports or part of something bigger and better please reach out. We are always looking for help managing fresh content on our website or new ideas on what we can do as a team.
