Ottawa Softball Post Game 6, SBW Beer vs Bag Stompers

Ottawa Softball Post Game 6, SBW Beer vs Bag Stompers

Suds Buds and Windmills matched up against the Bag Stompers in a Friday night Ottawa softball stinker. The buds were clearly the better team, but did not bring their A game. To make things worse, the team limo must have been stuck in line at the McDs drive-thru, as several players showed up late and were thrown into the game without a warm up.

While the defense played well, the team’s offense couldn’t get it going and were held scoreless until the 4th inning when they finally got on the board. By the end of the inning the Buds were still in it, only down by 1 run. Shawn DG led off with a double in the following at bats, and Captain Krystle drove him in with a hit of her own. It looked like SBW might be able to squeak out a victory even with the shaky effort, but the Bag Stompers had other ideas. With 2 runs in their half of the inning, a 5 run 6th inning sealed the deal and left the Buds searching for answers on how to find the win column. While the losses are tough, the team spirit is still high, and there is no question that the Buds will turn things around. Either way, it’s Friday night, and there is always enough cold beer to go around!

Ottawa Softball SBW Player of the game: Sam Vezina for being ready to suit up, getting ready, and then not playing because everyone showed up late. Team player!

Ottawa Softball SBW Play(s) of the game: Ryan Stasiuk’s fantastic 3rd base coaching that led to both of the SBW runs scored, and for putting up with Mel Pageau completely ignoring him.

Check back next week for another Ottawa softball postgame from the RA Centre softball league.
